OK I have searched and asked and have yet to find out how it is done I am swapping over my automatic to a manual and have no clue how to wire up the reverse lights I know that there is 2 wires directly on the manual trans for the reverse lights and almost positive that the wires are in the automatic shifter?? But how do I go about hooking them up?? Do I just connect the wires or are they different for the auto to man? Please help!!

Yea that's what i did.... I dunno why but like 3 years ago a put my friends old VX motor into my other friends auto DX.. When i did it I pulled out the whole white plastic box that sits under the automatic shifter.... you need to wire it so that it sits in park or the keys will not come out of the ignition when you turn the car off. I just figured out which wires made the reverse lights turn on then I ran them out to the switch on the tranny and everything worked fine... Just make sure that you totally disconnect them from the white box and that you have a constant 12vdc running to one of the wires being ran out to the switch. **** man that swap was such a waste of time for my friend.. I worked on that **** for like a week and couldn't really figure out what was wrong. It turned out that the tranny ground wasn't grounding and it was grounding the whole motor through the valve cover ground and the throttle cable. That **** melted like 2 throttle cables before we figured out what was wrong. hehe but yea that was a long time ago and before that swap i had only done 2 others so ya know.. We didn't even change the passenger side tranny bracket so the motor sat kinda up on that side.. But yea he sold that car and we still see it driving around every once and a while. theres 2 wires coming from the auto shifter, look at the reverse position, one wire is yellow the other is green/black, hook those 2 up to the 2 wires coming off the top of the manual trans (i forget what colors they are green/something, but just hook them up, with way should be fine, because its just a "switch")
