So I have a Honda CRV 95, Ive been using it for about 5 years, but my family has owned it for about 8, It operated nicely for that time.

A couple days ago when I was engine braking down a hill, The engine started making a odd noise, like a friction noise, not nice.
We checked the oil and there was barly anything in it, but the engine still ran so we added a couple quarts and it was fine and it sounded like before... So we thought it was all good

Today I was driving it down the highway dropping someone off, and The enigne started to make a loud clicking noise, and very abrupt losses of power, making the car jurk. We pulled over, and checked the oil, it was full. The clicking happened at orderly times about 4 times a second at idle. We have left it there, waiting for a tow.

Whats wrong with my crv? Any help would be much appreciated.

The cylinder heads in these are known for the exhaust valve seats sinking into the head. It could cause the symptoms you're seeing. Get it checked out be a mechanic or someone familiar with these old cars.

Also, check your year. It's at least a '97, the CR-V didn't exist before then.
