Engine Swap help
Hi guys -
I have a 1992 AUTOMATIC civic with a V-tech that is damaged due to timing belt failure. I also have a 1995 MANUAL V-tech with a good motor and trans. I want to put the 95 motor in the 92. Now being that one is automatic and one is manual do I need pull both engines and separate the motor from the manual trans and swap with the automatic trans?
Thanks for the help

I'm not totally sure I grasp exactly what you're getting at, but yes assuming you want to keep the automatic in your civic you will need to separate the engine from the transmission and swap over your flex plate, torque converter, etc from the original engine. You're also going to need to reuse your original throttle body.
Thanks guys. So the 95 was in an accident and it would be more costly for me to fix that up as opposed to swapping the engines. And my daughter needs something to drive asap.
To make it easy the different cars have different wiring, so keep the trans with the original car. so yes, split bot engine and trans and swap just the engine, if you want to use the auto you need to swap the auto wiring with it.
People sure do make things harder than they are.
Simple answer; They're the same engine, feel free to take one out of one car and put it in the other car.
Leave the transmission in the car and just pull the engine out and swap it over. You'll need to save the flex plate (flywheel) from your automatic engine and swap it over to the new engine along with the flex plate bolts (manual trans have longer flywheel bolts)
