Icon4 Remote control not working.

Hello,

I bought a used 2003 Honda accord, 4 Cyl, 4 doors from a friend of a friend. I noticed that the guy had already switched the master power window switch to a another that is not a genuine Honda master switch. It looks like something he bought off of amazon that is compatible with the car. It works fine and everything but it does not program the remote for key-less entry. I tried the turning the switch on and off 4 or 5 times method that gets you into programming mode but it did not work. Should i go buy a genuine Honda master power window switch from a junk yard or used online? or is there any way that i can program the key for a key-less entry? I don't think the remote needs a battery because when i click on the buttons, it shows the little red light.

Thanks for your input in advance!

Maybe the switch is out of a DX that does not include the receiver. Before buying a new switch I would also check if the wiring harness is intact.

Are you pressing lock between each cycle? It's On, Lock Button on Fob, Off. Do that three times and then lock one last time to exit programming once the cylinders cycle. It can also be done with the unlock button.
