Suggestions needed: Bolt On exhaust components for B16A2 Engine
I have a b16 swap in an EG hatch. What's a good header and exhaust system setup for my car? I don't want any exhaust system that is too loud. I like something similar to the apexi ws2 or the greddy ti-c.
So... Get the Apexi WS-2 or then GReddy Ti-C. Done...
Budget Header test.. Go for it.

go with whatever you like the sound of best, the gains you will see on a b16 will be very minimal. When I had the b16a2 in my em1 I ran a 5zigen pro racer header 4-1 2.5 inch collector, high flow cat, and a 2.5inch spoon n1 exhaust which I later switched for the apexi ws2.

The Yonaka is an okay cheap alternative, but it is definitely not up to par on sound or fit/finish compared to the WS2.The WS2 has a much nicer tone... The Yonaka is not offensive, but is definitely not as quiet under normal cruise. The WS2 also tucks up under the bumper neatly, where the Yonaka kind of pokes out. The details are where the extra money goes, for sure.
You're definitely leaving a little on the table with any chambered muffler exhaust, it's unavoidable The WS2 kit is also a 60mm exhaust, so it's really more like 2-3/8", not 2-1/2". You can't have everything and have to make a compromise somewhere though. If you want the most low-key streetable bolt on exhaust,, go WS2. If you want a bit more performance you're going to have to get louder and bigger.
The WS2 is a great product for a street car, IMO. I've had one on my daily for about 70k miles now, and it's still quiet at cruise and sounds great at wot. I'd buy another in a second if I were to build another daily project. If I were going after more power though, I'd likely fab something up in 2.5" with a Burns muffler and a resonator. The tough thing about that is that you have no way of knowing what you're going to get until it's bolted on the car and running.

Go to local exhaust shop and have them bend some 2.5" aluminized piping, with a Borla or Magnaflow muffler and at least one resonator of a decent size. Should be had for much cheaper than a name brand unit and will be every bit as nice in terms of power and sound. If you're going for JDM points then I cant help you. Also small trick/tip: If going to a local exhaust shop and you dont have the money to spring for mandrel bends, go with a size larger than what you actually want and when they crush bend it it wont neck down to a size that will be detrimental to power. With a stock b16 you could use 2.5" and be just fine.
i bought an axle back and had it fabbed up.
i currently have a built b20v making 220whp and I went with the thermal r&d 3" exhaust and added a 3" vibrant ultra quiet resignator. It's honestly as quiet as the ws2
i have a yonaka exhaust on my 99 CRV and it was quiet at first but after about 1000kms got quiet a bit louder..I'm not very impressed with the sound but it was cheaper then an oem replacemt
