I recently purchased a 1995 civic coupe with a jdm b18c Gsr swap. The previous owner is somebody I work with at a shop and isn't very tech savvy so I knew I would run into a lot of problems. But.... $1500 for one of the cleanest civics I've ever seen it was a steal. Now, weeks prior to him selling the car to me he replaced the timing belt. My first step after purchasing the car was to do a full check over.
Had a few codes so,
relashed valves
replaced the iacv
alot of new gaskets
i welded a lot of the leaky 2.5 inch exhaust
ran a wire from the knock sensor to the Ecu
new plugs and wires and distributor
no codes
my problem now is that when I set the ignition timing I can't advance it anymore than 14 degrees, I'm under the impression that the cam timing is off by just a ***** hair. I can hear the exhaust lope every once in a while at idle. I love working on cars but I'm no genius and I just started working at a shop this year, I didn't understand the amount of time I ave to put into this car
