Default Which engine matches to tranny

Hey guys I have a civic 95 dx. My head gasket blew like a month ago, I have the stock d15 in it I'm going to but a new engine within two weeks but kinda want something a little bit faster. My question is would I be able to put a ZC and use the same tranny and ecu ?

any D series tranny will bolt up to any D series engine.
ecu has to match the engine if using a stock ecu and stockish engine. if the engine is a hybrid or has any internal work, you'll need a tuneable ecu and a full tune. NOT a downloaded basemap. and to clarify, even a full tune someone did on another car is still just a basemap for anything else even if it's an identical setup.

Thanks motoxxman, very well informed answer you provided.

OP moved your thread to the appropriate forum. This has nothing to do with engine machine work or precision building.
