Default 2005 Honda Accord Euro with high kms

Hi there, I am looking at buying a 2005 Honda Accord Euro with 310,000 kms on the clock. They've all been highway kms and the car has a RWC. Just wondering if I am nuts, or it's a reasonable move if the price is right. I have no idea about cars, so no idea how much it would cost if the engine died etc. The car is for my daughter so I want something that's reliable. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

If you understood cars very well, and could thoroughly evaluate the car, and the price were very low so that the almost inevitable maintenance and repairs was factored in, then it's possible it could work out. As you aren't well familiar with maintenance and repair of cars, it's probably best you look for a lower kilometers example. You could, of course, pay a mechanic to perform the evaluation, but the car's old and there's only so much a mechanic can do during an evaluation. It's a gamble, so you've got to decide how strong is your tolerance for risk.
