Default obd2 swap in obd1 tach jumper

I've read a few threads where I need to either hook up a wire directly from the distributor to the back of the cluster (blue wire) or I can just jump something in the harness according to Hmotors when I called them.

Can anyone provide a link to a existing thread that goes into detail for this? I'm pretty sure I understand the wire from the dizzy to the cluster but the jumper method sounds cleaner.

Thanks!
