Untuned b18b1 del sol
Hello everybody pretty fresh to the Honda Acura game.
I recently purchased a 95 del sol.. got it for cheap $950
it came boosted on a stock engine management system with no basemap I believe it has upgraded injectors. Tial wastegate HKS BOV no name intercooler. And I have no idea what kind of turbo charger it is.
ive had the car for about a week and HAVE TO WAIT until this Saturday for a diagnosis/tune/here's what's wrong with your car" Shop visit. I'm already expecting at least $800 in work to get it right. But I'm also discovering little things as I go. It has oil pressure and boost gauge so I can monitor the beatingbim giving this engine on my slow drives to work (because it's necessary) and I'm just curious as to what I can to do at least get the idle down without changing timing or anything like that. Should I remove something along the turbo piping to intake? I'm going 40mph in 5th gear at 25-3000 rpm and that is NOT GOOD I've already replaced idle air control valve and there is problems with the car rising because of the high rpm commute. What should I do to hold me off until this Saturday the 14th? I don't have headers. So I can't just take the strapped turbo off and all that goes with it . Would it be okay to like take the turbo completely out replace all vacuum lines and oil pan and then block the port on the exhaust manifold so the gasses are still directed out of the back and not the gaping hole where the turbo goes? Or is there a simpler way I can do it and leave the turbo on. Maybe disconnect the BOV and leave the hole in the intake open so it doesn't force air into itself? Or would the wastegate removal be safer? Any help is appreciated and by the way this Frankenstein "slap a turbo and call it a day" crap is already costing me an oil pan, water pump, and head gasket . I'm inclined with engines and especially Honda Acura however I know jack **** about engine management and turbo building
should have done a bit more research but I needed a r and got it for cheap so yeah thanks everybody:D
