[urgent] redtop h22a with blacktop ecu? (temporarily)
I know... I can hear it sounding like a bad idea as i type it, but hear me out.
I have a japanese import CD6 accord with a blacktop and an auto box. the motor has blown and i have a source on a very cheap redtop engine to replace it, and that's about all I can afford right at this moment. I'm planning on doing a manual swap later this year, but for the time being I've gotta get it on the road asap as I'm currently without transport
. would I be ok to just drop the redtop in with my current ecu for a couple of months till I can source a manual box and proper manual ecu? am I risking doing any damage?

yes, you can swap in the red top with your current intake manifold system . it will work okay till you get everything swapped .
Ideal, no as they are higher compression and mapping is slightly different due to the intake manifolds and cams. .
will it work to get you places, yes.

You can use the red top intake manifold if you want. The ECU will be able to monitor the air entering your engine the same as it does with your current intake manifold. if there are any differences in AFR, lean or rich, your O2 sensors will show that, and in turn the ECU will compensate, fuel and timing appropriately.
