I've got the windshield out of my Civic to address some rust, so I've been driving my rust-bucket Nissan Xterra all week. Yesterday, the lower shock mount parted company with the LF lower control arm and it's toed out beyond the point of driveability. Now I'm car-less and looking for an emergency repair on the Xterra to get around through the weekend. As rusty as this is, does it even look like it could be temporarily welded back together? ON VEHICLE?
i agree, get a new part or a used less rusty one. i can't imagine that would weld without blowing more holes through it. bet you would be grinding for quite some time to find good metal to weld to
