As you know 696 was rear ended and insurance company totaled it out. Due to the high prices on ITR I was reluctant I would still be in the game. I found 01-097 for a amazing price with the sought out hard to find trunk mat, clean near mint interior, decent amount of miles, and clean title. So I picked her up. The mission continues
Stripping the car down and checking everything out. I find this. I guess one of the previous owners was a bass head. Still don't know why they would do this to a type r and not a regular integra.
Previous owner painted it orange. I can't complain I got the car for a great price. Didn't break the double digits. It will eventually be painted back to yellow.
yeah that's the one. It's a work in progress. Started pulling off the suspension and replacing it the mugen suspension I had. Car was sitting on oem shocks with H and R Springs which sat a 1 inch lower then the mugen's. Transmission engine nuts were on the lower fork. Switched those out for the right ones. Rims were rattle canned white so swapping those out until they are repainted or powder coated
Gloss black looks good on the stock wheels. How's the quality of the paint job? I noticed the interior wasn't done but spraying the engine bay is no small task. Kudos for whoever did it to go to that level.
Great pickup! I was surprised that the car was available for so long. Glad it went to a good home.
If you end up parting out 696, I'm sure that there are a quite a few smaller items I would love to pick up for my rebuild. Let me know if you're interested in selling a few things!
Let me know what you need or looking for and I will keep you posted. Some parts off of 696 are already sold or pending to a buyer. I have a lot of oem and extra additional parts.
thats kinda what i wish i did, you dont really have to worry as much ruining a mint or super clean/oem ITR, Now you can basically just have fun! looks like a clean job whoever did it.
Doesn't look so bad, check the back of those white rims to make sure they say Honda or else they could replicas. Rather you spend the dime on some oem's. How much was the buy back?
