Default Crankshaft fitment for D16y8

Let's start by saying I'm new to Hondas. Now to what I need help with. I have a D16y8 in a 97 civic ex. I was looking for a lighter crankshaft but can only seem to find them for a B series engines. From the research I've done the rod and main journals appear to be the same. Just the snout diameter is different. My thoughts are instead of grinding down the snout or trying to add material. Just get a pulley for a B16. Same diameter and groves for the belts are the same. So it should still work with all my accessories and timing belt, yes? Plus if the stroke is the same a B series crank will work in my y8, yes? Again I'm new to Hondas and what's interchangeable but I definitely know my way around a car.

Let the B-series stay with B-series. D-series stays with D-series. That type of interchangeability isn't possible. There are many subtle differences in the two crankshafts and other parts.
You don't need a lighter crankshaft 99% of the time.

What are the subtle differences in the 2 crankshafts? Again I'm new to Hondas so I'm still learning the ins and outs, do and don't of hondas.

Nothing subtle about it. Different bearing widths, journal widths, oiling process, etc.

You'll know enough about hondas to quickly understand to keep the two family if engines separate, with the exception of the H- series & K-series
