backup camera wiring
2000 honda civic lx.
I tapped the backup camera into the positive wire from the right reverse light (green with stripe if i remember correctly). now when i have both reverse lights on and plugged in, the camera doesnt power up (can tell with the camera lights). When one reverse light is unplugged, the camera will power up when the car is in reverse. sounds like an amperage issue?
Has anyone installed a backup camera before? If so, how and where did you tap the positive wire for the camera?
Thanks fellas.

You might need to use a relay. The wire you tapped can utilize the relay throw while you put power from the fuse box through the switched part of the relay. I think the magnetic throw of the relay utilized much less current than the camera and this will give you the same operation you are after.
