Icon5 Prelude spindle and suspension on EG

Hey everyone, first post. I am seeking knowledge from everyone.

I just recently bought a 1992 VX hatch with a b18b1 swap. I have a 1993 prelude VTEC that was totaled. And I'm planning on H2B swapping the hatch. Now my question is will my prelude front spindle fit on the EG? I would get the brake upgrade of the prelude brakes and I'd probably just have to use ITR AXLES to fill the bigger hubs of the prelude. Has this been done before ? I was also thinking about doing the rear brake setup as well so I could go 4x114.3 all around. If I'm missing anything please let me know.

Okay so I pulled the spindle off of the Prelude. The Axle hubs are bigger. It seems as though the spindle is a little taller than the EG one. And the Ball joint is almost 2x the size of the EG ball joint. I'm looking at the Lower control arm and it looks like it's identical to the EG LCA. So I might be able to use the LCA and spindle from the prelude. except there is no back half of the LCA on the prelude, meaning the prelude LCA only mounts in to the subframe in one place as oppose to 2 places on the EG. So I'd have to use a traction bar setup to get the lower prelude arm to work. Which is fine because I was needing to get a traction bar anyways. ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I just don't want to get rid of my Prelude suspension if I can use it to my benefit on my EG.

Using this search in google:
site:honda-tech.com prelude spindles on eg
and
site:honda-tech.com prelude suspension in eg

Only gives me threads about prelude brakes in an eg.

I don't think anyone has worked out the suspension or it's not very possible without significant fabrication.

Yeah ive been searching but with no luck of any documented success or failure. I have the entire prelude so I might still pull them off and compare maybe see if it is even really possible. Only thing I'd be wasting is my time. But if it works then I'll be in business. I really want to upgrade the brakes that's the only reason for the question. But I just don't want to piece together everything from a lot of different cars. Or spend the money when I have the entire brake setup from the prelude. They're the 11 in rotors.

The prelude bolt pattern is 4x114, for the best search results try searching for 4x114 conversion.

I remember searching and there was no cheap solution.

no to the spindle swap. just doesnt work. you can have the rotors redrilled, you can also use the big calipers.

the caliper you'll need is known as the 17CL15VN front caliper.
the 17CL15VN is one of the biggest single piston calipers honda produces.
you can easily identify this caliper from the stamp.

this caliper can also be found on:
97-01 ITR,
97-99 CL V6,
91-95 legend,
96-98 rl,
95-98 tl,
92-94 vigor,
95-02 accord v6,
91-97 accord wagon,
97-01 crv,
95-01 odyssey,
92-96 prelude vtec
& 97-01 prelude

currently the civic has on Integra GSR front suspension. (i.e knuckles , hub, etc)

94-00 integra (except ITR) front knuckles are all the same regardless if it from a LS, RS, GS OR GSR

I would like to kno if the prelude caliper would bolt to the gsr components?
If it wouldnt what needs to be done to get it to work? caliper mount needs to grinded and or redrilled? Would the disc bolt onto the hub ?

yes, the 17CL15VN calipers will fit your integra knuckles.

once you obtain the calipers, you'll need to seperate the caliper bracket.

the bracket is stamped either 23T, 25T or 28T.

the bracket will need to be milled 2-3mm (or 1/8").
* (the machined brackets will also accept NSX & 94-95 legend 2-pot front calipers)

ITR 23T bracket milling question for dc2 application? - Honda-Tech

once you get the bracket machined, you'll need rotors.
you have 2 options:
a. re-drill prelude VTEC 11" rotors to 4X100
b. www.fastbrakes.com 11" rotors in 4X100.

pads can be found in any of the honda/acura models listed above.

since you'll need more fluid to push the bigger pistons, it's a good idea to upgrade your master cylinder.

Easiest Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade Yet for 1992-1995 Civics... - Honda-Tech

you can keep the booster on your 92-95 civic EG & upgrade to 15/16" from a 90-91 civic EX.

honda oem part # 46100-SH4-A11.

bolts right up, no bending or reflaring of the brake lines.

use caution when dealing with the m/c & use a flared wrench to avoid stripping it.
