Default 98 civic dx clutch making noise

Hi guys so I did a swap my d16y7 to a less mileage d16y7 i have plans for turbo but first I have this clutch issue I'm pretty sure I installed my clutch properly but at low rpm my car is really hesitant I can't seem to grab gears until around 3 rpm it seems to make this cricket sound but besides maybe installing my clutch wrong I may have bent my shift linkage, if I did would that also affect my driving at low rpm? My gears are really stiff especially 5th and reverse

Check the clutch pedal height and freeplay.

That's likely a shift linkage issue.
