I'm looking forward to upgrade my suspension with a set of coil overs and i don't which well known reputable brand i should go with. I heard Koni was a pretty reputable brand. What are some of the better brands of coil over out there for under $1000??

There are tons of threads on this. Important things to consider:
-How low do you want to be?
-At $1K or under, you may have to choose which is more important...ride quality or comfort?
-What purpose do you have for lowering the car?
-Do you plan to drive the car in road salt?

AMR was offering a pretty good Black Friday discount, I don't know if it's still available but it would put a really good set of proper coilovers right at the top of your point, and he consults you and builds them for what your usage is going to be. It might do you some good to send an phone call that way.

AMR

Fortune Auto

PIC

All three of those are around $1000 or just over, and those are all high end manufacturers that will provide shock dynos, custom springrates, warranties, and properly valved shocks to springs.

Quite a few to almost all lol. There's only a few brands that I know of that hold up through winter.

The new lineup of Teins have a REALLY good coating. Like....really effing good. Still almost no rust on mine after 4 years of midwest use. Collars move freely. No rust at all on the threads that have some sort of immersion coat.

KW's are stainless and plastic. So...an obvious good choice for winter use.

ST is KW's econo line. They're zinc plated...which seems to be an awful idea. But with a coating of clearcoat when they were new, mine held up fine. Plastic/stainless perches help a lot.

H&R SP's are also zinc plated. Not sure what the perches are made from.

Well, thanks to this thread I had to jump on the AMR Black Friday sale, prices were just too good to pass up. Andy's building me a set with the Swift Spring upgrade, Spherical top hats, and 12k/14k rates. Wheeee

Hope you found something for yourself OP.

I didn't go that stiff, but you wont be disappointed. they ride great, and the adjustments actually do something.

Thanks for your order, posted a picture of your setup on our instagram. Just waiting on springs to arrive from Swift, and I need to schedule to have more spherical top mounts made. I have not had a chance to do that yet, but I'll get that scheduled. Check out our instagram at www.instagram.com/amrengineering if you want a sneak peak of your setup. It's the most recent picture we uploaded where you will see a row of coilovers we've assembled last week that are waiting on springs to arrive. The sale continues, keep them orders coming. Happy Holidays!
