D16 knocking - what do I need to do a rebuild?

Hey guys motor just started knocking a couple of days ago and I was just wondering what I would need to do a rebuild

pull it apart, inspect crank, bore, etc. you have some homework to do

Read up on rebuilds before taking on the task. I can list a bunch of things you need to do but you wouldn't even understand it.
