Attempting to clean up this mess on my 00 sedan.. Whoever originally installed it tapped into everything which I believe is the reason left door speaker doesn't work and door locks act up..now that alarm has been removed....ideas thoughts experiences

 

Which left door speaker and door lock is not working?

 

remove it all, return the harness to stock, see what happens.

 

So I did.. Locks still act up.now driver window won't go up.yet the other 3 do.. Found several random plugs that had been taped

The blue tape looks like factory, for options you don't have. Did you plug the stock keyless box back in? It is the white box on the side panel near the driver's left foot.

Alarm wiring usually doesn't affect the windows. Often windows become intermittent because the wires between the door and the main part of the car have cracked inside.

 

After further review I left dS unplugged so its back up.... Duh...yet locks still act up. Can hear them when I turn the key but no lock..some do some don't etc very irratic...hate wires

 

Carefully back track all wires and undo the connections. Re do the spliced wires on the OE harness correctly.

 

Clip all the wires from the alarm. Yellow is the main power, brown is the siren, green and blue are the door unlocked/lock wires. You can see that they used t-taps at the floor harness, remove those and retape them up. It looks like they used one of the accessory outlets on the fuse box to power the alarm which will need to be removed.

 

So that huge white box with the grey plug next to it is the power door lock module. After you remove all the t-taps and tape up the exposed wire, replug the grey plug into that white box. Everuthing should go back to normal. Im not sure what that jumper with the huge black wire is for though. Did this car have remote start too?

 

Just got home now and able to see the photos on a computer:

1) Remove that thick black and white wire from the white connector. More than likely it's just shoved in there. Once it's out, reconnect to the "male" white connector you also circled here.


2) These two plugs to me are reminiscent of the HVAC controls... possibly the hazard or defrost buttons


3) As mentioned in previous posts, the yello, brown, black, blue and green wires can be cut.


4) These are the t-taps I was talking about. remove these, tape up the exposed wire, and reconnect the grey connector to the white box right next to it.


5) Remove that T-Tap that is plugged into the fuse box. These are "accessory power" junctions that were intended for like fog lights and stuff. Pull it out, I bet any money that wire goes to the alarm box.


6) Finally, this brown connector with the blue/red wire... I think that was intended for plugging into the OEM foglight harness. I could be wrong, but I don't really that ever being connected to anything behind the fuse box.


PLEASE BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE DOING ANY MORE WORK

 

I was right. That brown connector with the blue/red wire is meant for foglights. Tuck it up and away.
