1998 Honda Civic . car won't start
My Honda Civic won't start after I took valve cover off ...it's the cover just above the spark plugs .. but while I was doing That I snapped the 2 screws next to the distributor .. next to the sensor .. my question is this would Tht be a reason for my car not to start ?
Update I can't get a video up today .. because my car is. In Oxnard and I'm in filmore stranded :/ . But just keep an eye on this thread I should have a video up tomorrow or sometime this week
so I took the distributor cap off and tested the ignition coil .. it read just under 9 and the voltage said 12 . Would Tht be a reason
Did you disconnect anything else? Make sure your rotor is not burnt up looking and the cap has good contact points on the inside. Are you sure the firing order is correct when you put everything back together?
we did find a firing order diagram online ..play with Tht .

The two bolts have nothing to do with starting.
Hard to tell but it looks like one burnt cap terminal, but it buy itself would not prevent starting.
Did you check to see if you have spark and how good it is, [should be bright blue on all 4 cylinders] check with an HEI spark tester only. 94

yaj i I used Tht screw driver thing Tht lights up .. no spark . Nd a screwdriver
If that cap terminal is as burnt as it looks in the pix, then yes replace it, but as mentioned it by itself would not prevent starting, if you have no spark either the coil is toast ot the igniter is no good, test both.
Although the bolts have nothing to do with starting they are there for a reason, replace them, use an easy out/bolt extractor to remove broken ends and replace the bolts. 94
