hit bump in road BAD now car shakes
i was on the service road goin about 60-70 there is some road work goin on in the area... they were in the middle of paving it i guess. and where the new and old pavement meet was a huge bump.. i hit it worse than i hit most potholes. now the car shakes.. my question is, could it just be the rims un balanced, there 17 with low profile but the rims are fine.. i just hope it is the unbalanced rims and not like a control arm or something like that.. what could it be???

pulll off the wheels...look in on the insides of the rims...17's usually tend to bend on the insides...if its not that...look at your axels!
If you purchased your tires and/or rims from a local shop, take the car back and ask them to check the balance... Most shops will do this for free if you purchased them there.
If it is rim relevant, then the shaking will get worse with speed...
The odds of bending other parts are pretty low in my opinion... if you had hit a curb, then yes, but the pot-hole would have to be gigantic for something like that... I live in Colorado, pot-hole capital of the world, and have seen a few bent rims, but not any other parts **Knock on wood**
for hoping that the repair is easy and not costly! Best of luck!

Stick the wheel on the rear and if the shake goes away then you have bent your rim. i done the same on my last teg, hit a huge pothole at night then the car started shaking like hell, i was selling the car so wasnt going to spend money on having it repaired so i stuck the bent rim on the rear and never said anything to the guy buying it
dude the same thing happened to me the other night, ****** horrible, i put my car in the air and low and behold, both my front rims are bent to **** in the front.....ah well, time for new ones now.....

Depending on the cost of your rims new, Wheels America can fix them for about 125.00 per rim.
dude i did the same exact thing in my teggy. ran over a pothole during some road construction going on. my car started shaking really bad. i spent money on new tires, a wheel alignment and wheel studs after snapping mine off swapping rims thinking they might have been bent. then finally after spending all that money it turned out to be my friggin right side front drive axle
after spending all that money on b.s it was only a $150 dollar job parts and labor
make sure you have that looked at before you go do anything like i did.

check the rims if not that i have noticed that low profile tires tend to bubble a lot if you go over pot holes a lot
you might be able to see your tire bubbled or have a bump on one side that changes the shape of the tire and makes your car feel shaky
