Who makes the best performance exhaust for the CRX? And how do those sound?
Everyone talks about thermal this thermal that. But what is the BEST performance exhaust on the market?

 

The best system? Well, you must understand that it depends on your setup.

For example, with a D16A6 that already has a intake and a 4-2-1 header, any 2" diameter exhaust system will perform very well.

Thermal is 2.25", but I have heard nothing but good things about this system. The biggest thing to look for in exhaust systems is the use of a straight through style muffler, and of course the diameter of the piping.

FYI: A cat-back exhaust system won't make much of a difference, especially on our 1.6l motors! So just find an exhaust system that has your desired size of piping, is quality built, and has the style & features that you want. Spending an extra $300 on the 'Best' exhaust system isn't going to make ANY noticable difference in performance vs. the other good exhaust systems...

sorry man.. but i have to contradict u... u are wrong./..
a nice exhaust system on an 1.6L with an intake and headers, will make a real big difference on aceeleration after 4000..... u will notice a very fastter engine reving, and better higher speeds aceleration... specially after 100mph... been there done that twice... and i know theres diference,.... if u dont feel one of dont have one please dont say that it doesnt helps at all....

 

I said it doesn't make any real difference. 4-5 hp isn't a real difference to me, it's noticable, but not worth spending more than 300 dollars for!

BTW: My exhaust is a 2.25" diameter custom exhaust, mandrel bends, with a straight through performance muffler (magnaflow). Sure it's nice having an exhaust, but it doesn't make much of a difference unless your going FI, or you've got VTEC y0!

EDIT: I should've said that it doesn't make much of a real difference on a stock A6... Sorry.

well actually i am not a fan of spendign a lot of cash for an exhaust system.. thers no point of wasting 500 bucks on something u can do for 150 and give u same results.... i have done custom exhaust 2.25" with a straight muffler and it has game me good deals... i am not saying that it makes ur can go a lot faster.. i know u might have gotten 5-7 hp, but u can fell that ur car isnt dying @ 110.. it does goes more up to like 125.....it does rev faster on high speeds, and reving...
of course we got vtec and the more air the engien take, the more we need to let go. but on a A6 its going to give more top end than power....dont worry nothing personal...

i'm not sure if greddy makes it for CRX but if it does i'd get greddy for sure best exhaust out there in my opinion

 

well im planning on b20vtec later on. but i have a d16y7 in there now..
i would like to get an exhaust for now and keep it for my b20vtec setup

 

the exaust I have grown very fond of was my tanabe super hyper medalion cat back system. 70mm stainless steel pipeing all the way back, its the best sounding exaust I have found for my B16 and I could feel alot of improvment over my stock old system. Im not sure if they make it for a crx, mine is on a hatch. Be sure to check it out.
