Can someone confirm the bolt pattern that's supposed to exist on the motor for coupe window regulators. I ordered an aftermarket regulator without motor intending to swap the motor over, but the bolt pattern on the motor is different than the regulator so they don't bolt up. Before I go making angry phone calls, I figured I would check to see how it's supposed to be. Maybe it's been replaced previously....

My motor is a 3 bolt pattern, the regulator I bought has 4 bolts.

 

Doesn't sound like the right regulator, but posting pics may help.

This is the motor I have. You can see it's held in with only 3 bolts/screws.

 

Am I crazy because they look like different sides for a start. Your motor pic totally occludes the regulator to show where the 3rd bolt is, but it still looks like a close, but not close enough to be the correct one

 

It looks like they just don't use one of the holes in the back end. Did you actually try to fit the motor on?

And yes if those are your actual parts, you have a bigger problem of right side vs. left side.

 

Here's the answer. 3 bolt is not compatible with 4 bolt. 4 bolt is not compatible with 3 bolt. It's an aftermarket thing. Order the regulator with motor to avoid problems. I think my problem was the regulator had been previously replaced with an aftermarket one, and so when I bought the OE style motor, it wouldn't wouldn't bolt up.
