ITR 00-0696 may be out of the game
Sorry to see. I'm no body expert but I would hope that it is worth repairing. Or at least keep the car in one piece until ITR values go up to a point that it is worth repairing...

Not a body pro, but this car looks to be worth saving from the photos. Rear quarter sheet metal, hatch, and rear fascia can be replaced/repaired, if you missed the chassis subframe and major mounting features I think this car will live again. If you're not up to the task yourself, I'm sure you can find someone happy to fix and take it to the track.
I'm fairly good at auto body and from what I can see this is completely repairable (Essentially anything is). I wouldn't sale any parts off the chasis, instead I'd flip it as a rebuild. What are you being offered by the insurance company?
What's the vehicle's mileage? Any prior collisions? Title status? I wouldn't send it to the bone yard just yet. Any R with a clean title and original badge number is worth putting up a fight for.
Being around body shops for years, that is an EASY repair from what Ive seen that can be done. Any other car, total it. But an ITR with that damage is definitely worth saving. Cost to repair that in my guess shouldnt exceed the rising value of these cars especially if yours is all original and never been hit before this incident. On the brighter side, main thing you walked away my man and nobody got hurt.

My Track R was totaled in Georgia when being driven by a tech at the dealership form a hard rear end hit like this. It was then fixed and ended up in California. It then was "stolen" and stripped, but surprisingly the engine and trans were perfectly fine. Needed 5 lug, seats, cluster and front end, but drives better and straighter than my clean title garage queen ITR.
You know, looking at the thickness of the paint on the corner that is coming off, it looks like it may have some bondo on it form a previous repair. But still looks totally fixable. If they total it, buy it back and you will find one of 100's of guys who will buy it.
Still waiting on the insurance and seeing how they want to play this out. I have to take it back to the body shop they estimated the damage at over 7k. Insurance only quoted 3k with the car valued at 12k. It is clean title. I do have the badge for it. I picked it up for 6500 cause the previous owner left it to rot. So it's a work in progress. I'll keep you updated on what happens. May just sell it and move on. Working out the details.

Glad no one was hurt!
