B18a, lift points to remove tranny?
I have a b18a out of the car and I need to remove the tranny to replace the clutch while its out. Problem is that I can only find one suitable lift point on the engine itself, with the 2nd point being on the transmission.
I actually tried balancing the engine on blocks of wood while one person held the engine and the other tried to get the tranny off but we failed. We could only get the transmission about an inch away from the block then it got stuck. Tried to pry but wouldnt budge.
I'm guessing there is another obvious solution here that I'm not seeing.

I am not understanding what you are doing. Why are you lifting the engine? If the engine is on the ground just make sure all bolts connecting them are out and it comes apart. I have just balanced the engine on the timing belt end and lifted the trans off.
Is this engine new to you?
Sounds exacty like what happens when you don't remove the bolts from a flex plate on an auto tranny
Or when you leave the black inspection plate on the bottom of the tranny. It gets hung up on the flywheel.
