Default Welding in manual trans mount

I’m going to be removing the auto transmission frame mount and swapping it out with the manual version. My main concern is corrosion. Once the auto mount is removed the frame will be unpainted and bare. However, it does have some kind of corrosion protection from the factory, since it’s unpainted in that section.

My question is what can I use to protect the frame from rust?

If I paint that section before spot welding the new mount, I will introduce contaminates into the spot weld. I will also burn the paint on the backside. I also heard the weld through primers, have little to none corrosion protection, and do not create a good adhesion bond to the surface metal, and create a poor bond if painted.

Let me know what up and thanks for your time. -dem0nk1d

You are asking to prime an area which won't be visible after welding?
Or asking to primer an area after you weld it?
Pictures would help if you have any.

I’m worried about corrosion in general. Once I drill out the factory spot welds from the Auto Trans mount on the frame, where the mount sat on the frame rail will be bare. I am sure the factory uses some kind of clear coating in that section. I don’t have a current photo but take my word. So my question is once I weld in the manual trans frame mount, what can I do for protection?

I’ll be using my mig welder to create the spot welds. I’m concerned about the back side of the weld. This back side is located in the boxed section of the frame. There is no possible way to get inside and clean that weld. So in general what would be the proper way to kill corrosion?

If there is any sort of small opening to get into the frame rail, I suggest using this.
