My 00 CR-V LX has no CD player and I found one from the 01 CRV SE ( double DIN) but not sure if this 100% works in my 00 CRV lx w/0 any modifications . Can someone confirm ? No , I don't want the aftermarket one .
I have a '99 w/CD and a friend has the '01 with CD. Seems to be the same exact radio.
Here's a new radio with CD (Ebay 272092913013) and it purportedly fits ANY '98 through '04 CRV. My guess is that they are cross compatible with non CD radios. To make sure compare the rear connectors. Plenty of pics on the net to research.
I installed a 6 disc changer (I believe from an 01) into my mother's '99 LX CRV. Just removed the stock audio unit and the little cubby under it and put in the new one. Everything plugged in fine and worked for a year or so until it had an internal mechanical failure of the disc changer. It seems to be pretty common and hardly worth repairing. Everything else still works.
It was a salvage yard pick up from a CRV. May have been an SE or possibly a Honda Accessory unit. May also have been a transplant from an Accord as stated. Hard to say, but it was a plug and play install.
Did you need the radio code or anything for that unit when you pulled out from the Salvage yard ? Looks like I need to swing by the JY see if can find any !!!
You do, but you have easy access to the serial number on top of the unit. Many times the code is still on the sticker in the glove box or written in the maintenance book from the PDI.
Little update ... found me a double DIN from 2000 Accord ( JY) . Anyways , it is plug & play and all the holes are line up perfectly . The radio code is written on the top of the unit from the previous owner I guess .
