I have an 89 DX with the 1.5L that is not charging the battery. I checked the battery terminals while the engine was running, and it was at 12.02 volts and going downwards. I checked the fuse under the dash that is labelled Alternator/Starter Valve, and it appears not to be blown. In fact, when I removed it when the engine was running, the engine died. I removed the alternator (dumbest thing I've ever seen to remove an alternator), and took it in to the local auto parts store and they tested it three times and stated it was working just fine. Now I get to put the alternator back in, and go from there. What do I do?
