Assistance Needed: Blower vents are not changing w/ settings
Hoping I could get some help.
I have a 2003 Accord LX Coupe V6 that I've already sunk a bit of money in trying to keep it running for my son while he was in college. He's out now and since it was sitting in my driveway,I thought I would put a few miles on for myself. I love it!
The problem is, the vent controls don't change the air movement--the lights come on, the fan blows, the AC and heat work, but its stuck. I get three blinks when I run a diagnostic. I had my son take it to a Honda dealer and they said it had something to do with the radio-I had it changed shortly after we bought it to another Accord radio and it works fine.
I ended up ordering a new mode motor pn 79140-SDN-A01 and it turned about half a turn and then nothing. I pressed all the buttons turned the heat up and off but nothing.
Any ideas?

So it works with a diffrent radio but not with the one that was in the car?
If it is related to the radio install it could be a power wire that was cut or used for the radio somehow or a fuse possibly. If you have a new motor installed and its still not moving its got a short in the wiring harness. take a look around he witing harness behind the radio or the fan motor maybe theres a short.

If Mode control motor is getting stuck, remove it and with it still plugged in see if it moves properly, if so it is a good bet mode "doors/flaps" are jammed all it takes is a pen or pencil. [any object] slipping down the defrost vents into the heater housing to jam things up.
You can also see if you can move the mode linkage by hand once the motor is out, you can sometimes move a jamming object out of the way without having to pull the heater unit... Honda Automotive Parts
Question, where is the air coming out of now, [default is defrost vents] ? 94
