Trouble replacing radiator fan
I have made a mess I think, the driver side radiator fan broke and I bought a replacement. The bolt that is at the base of the fan next to the transmission coolant line was removed. When it was removed the square nut fell out of the brace that the fan mounts to and has become impossible to slide back in due to the bushing that sits below it where the nut fell from. Anyone had this happen and found a fix? Heres the nut and the bolt.

And here is whats going on now, I assumed that to get this nut back in place I need to pull the radiator, so I drained it. But then when I disconnected the line I realized it was transmission fluid and quickly tighten it back. The other one on the passenger side I assume is the AC coolant line and that I shouldnt mess with it.

and here is a pic of the line I think is ac coolant, closer to the battery side.

If I can get the nut inside the brace and get the bolt to thread I think Ill be fine, but I havent figured a trick to get it to stay in place without pulling the radiator out and flipping it over. So Ill stop and see what you guys think and take it from there.

I got it altogether again, and now I am trying to understand when that fan on the driver side is supposed to come on. The way I think this goes is the driver side fan runs only when the AC is on, in fact both fans run when I turn on the ac.. Then the passenger side fan that has the relay temp sensor deal kicks in if the engine gets over a certain temp. This right?
See post # 5 in this thread on how the cooling fans work.
