Default winter tire size

Are my 195 width snow tires too narrow for 15 X 7 rims?
I'm sure that they'd fit, but I don't want the rim lip sticking way out.

Get some steelies. If you're using alloys in the winter you run the risk of breaking them on a curb should you make a mistake. Get 6.0 or 6.5 inchers.

BTW, you could get some CRV steelies and paint them black.

Well I already have a set of 15 X 7 rims lying around that I'm not using. I'd prefer to use those before buying more rims. I don't really care if they get hurt, and I probably would deserve it if my driving caused me to smack a curb. Thanks though.
