2009 Odyssey engine tapping sound?
2009 Honda Odyssey. 94K miles. Touring edition. When you first start the car, there is a tapping sound that sounds like a valve tap. Goes away after about 2 min at idle. What worries me is that the sound is loudest from below the engine, passenger side. I'm hoping it's an accessory that's acting up and not a crank bearing. The timing belt has yet to be changed.
If you've had a similar sound, what did it turn out to be?
Will be taking the car to the shop tomorrow.
Thanks in advance.

My first thought would be too little tension on the timing belt due to a weak timing belt tensioner. As it warms up the pressure of the tensioner will increase and the noise will stop. If you haven't had the timing belt and water pump replaced yet I'd recommend doing it all at once.

Done. That's exactly what it was. The tensioner. Since we were pretty much due to change the timing belt anyway, we went and did it, the tensioner and the water pump.
