Default valve adjustments?

Hi guys,
I have a 96 accord whose engine is pretty loud.. otherwise, the engine is still smoth.. is a valve adjustment gonna correct this? how much do dealers typically charge for it? thanks

Shouldnt be more than an hours labor.

$60-$70 depending on where you are.

I've heard that some dealers are in the mid-nineties.

DIY. it's not too difficult, you only need a few basic tools and if it takes 2 hrs that would be a long time.

Thats 157.77 in Labor and 12.18 in Parts
Sales tax of .97 cents, totaling 170.92. I have the invoice in front of me.
Never again will i pay the dealer for this

I never go to the dealer for ANYTHING unless I have to. The bastards look to get rich off of each and ever sale. I paid $80 for a valve adjustment at a auto shop in the DC metro area.

My first time took about an hour and a half, my 3rd time took about hald an hour. It helps to know wht tools you need and have everything out. If you know how to use a wrench and a screwdriver you can do this easily.

what do you mean loud? my car is making a slight ticking noise, and it only happens when i hit the gas pedal. when its idling, its quiet. some people have told me that its normal and its called the "honda sewing machine" motor. please explain the problem you have.
