Default New Del Sol Si Owner Here!

What's up everybody? I'm new here, never lurked or anything, and I'm looking for a little advice. I didn't grow up in a family that liked cars (hell, I didn't even know how to drive stick, had to learn on the drive home picking the thing up), and have no experience working on cars at all whatsoever. However, I'd like to learn. I have a knack for mechanical things, and I think I could figure out bolt on parts, and maybe even a little fabrication. In late June, I was fortunate enough to purchase my first car, a 1995 Del Sol Si D16Z6 5 Speed in dark green for a steal- $1800. I picked it up from a retired pastor, who had called it his "racecar" and was driving a blue '12 Civic EX. Can't talk any **** on the Civic, I drove a '03 Honda Odessey for my first couple years driving. He mentioned that he thought he was getting too old for the car. Needless to say, the car was in great condition. No clear coat peeling, no excess interior damage, and no bad body dents. There are about a half dozen dime sized dents, but they don't bother me too much. Any ideas to get them out would be much appreciated. The main thing that bothers me is that the rims are scratched to hell. Looks like someone sucked at parallel parking. Before I left for college this fall, I ran over a huge nail in the road, and it hit the sidewall, so I need a new set of tires. I think I know what I want, but if anyone has any suggestions for tires that balance performance/ utility, I'd appreciate it. Mostly driving the car in the summer months, so they don't need to be economy tires or anything. As far as the rims go, I was thinking I wanted to sand them down and prime/paint/clear coat so it looked like factory, just newer. Bothers me more than it should. Other quirks of the car: interior buttons (hazards, cruise control) faded from sun, the security light fro center console is missing, anyone know where to get these parts? Can't find interior parts anywhere, and local junkyards don't seem to have Sol parts. Also, Whoever put in the aftermarket subs and amp in the back of the car basically just tore off the driver side step panel to connect to battery... So the carpet isn't secure in that panel, and it bothers the hell out of me. My last questions are pertaining to mods. I'm not ricing the car out. I'm trying to keep the car as stock as possible, and doing nothing to the car to prevent it from being reverted to stock. I really want this car to last a long time, and I'm willing to save up for quality parts. this being said, I'm looking at Eibach Prolines to lower the car about 1.5" to make the car handle better. I always thought the Sols were too high up. Anyone know if there would be anyone selling FF1's in the marketplace here, or the Sportlines? My second mod idea is basically a whole new brake system. Not anywhere close to being sure what brakes would be good for this car. 4 wheel brakes though, so it's not bad as it is. My last mods for the car will be exhaust (not fart box level, just something that grunts when I push the car), intake, and whatever you guys suggest. I would like to keep a reasonable budget, but I'm planning on doing this over time so it shouldn't be super conservative either. Not against the idea of using used parts.

Basically what I'm asking
  • Recommendations to get small dents out
  • Tire suggestions
  • What should I do about the "trashed" rims, sand and repaint as factory, or replace?
  • What mods?
Sorry if this post made me sound like a raging idiot. I'm excited to join the community and hope you guys have lots to say about my car.
