Default 00 Civic EX Project for My 16 yr. Old

My 16 year old has his first ride. It's a bit nicer than any of his parents first rides, but he's super special! My Ex-Wife's Husband owns a Body Shop, and a younger girl brought this car in after an accident. She couldn't afford to fix it, and let it go for $100. Step-Dad got the body work done really nicely with a few little aftermarket parts to make it appear to have something under the hood.

Here are the pictures, video's, etc. I'll go into the story of the car in the OP and edit it as we go. There will be more stories mixed in below.

So, we pick up the car and drive it for 3 hours. O2 Sensor throws a low voltage error, but other than that, everything goes fairly well. The 2nd time he drove the car, it over-heated. When the car pegged on the H, the motor was struggling. His solution to the problem was to floor it. That caused this lovely motor to sing a frightening song that went like this:

So, after putting the pipe on the bottom, and feeling the problem was high and low, bare in mind no fluids leaked out, nor was there anti-freeze in the oil, I decided to pick a motor with 128k on it and still a D16Y8 like the original. <1k variance in mileage vs the original motor. I'm still ironing out a few motor variations, and some codes, but here's how she sits right now. The car actually had some aftermarket adjustable struts/springs on it. I raised them as high as they would go LOL. It has upgraded speakers, head unit, sub-woofer, and a few interior painting accents. We'll resume customization after fixing a few higher priority issues with the car, but I'm driving it 6 hours today.

My Son picked these headlamp assemblies since it's his car, but my car has OEM and 55w Bi-Xenon. It's a Nissan though.

Yeah, bit too much for my taste too. The wheels will be painted red to fill the wheel cover holes. Funny idea to me, but it should break it up.

Slightly less than 1 penny. Lol

I think I'm going to be excited to tweak on this car. I've never owned a Honda until this one for him. I drove it 6 hours today. Got a lot more mpg's than my Nissan.

tell body shop guy he's a colossal **** up. OP- pull the replaced fender and paint the inside of it. failure to do so, ESPECIALLY on aftermarket fenders leads to rot quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Adjust your tire pressure to 5psi over max (usually 45 psi is fine) as long as the tires are in good shape. You should get around 44mpg highway with new plugs
