Default Stock+Stage 2 cam Worth it ????

Hey Guys... as the title said... I have a Stock full refreshed D16Y8 block + Y8 Head and pistons, LsTB pretty much all stock... but I was wondering after doing a research, as I don't want to invest that much, if adding a Stage 2 Cam (without replacing valves or valve springs as I understand no need to be replaced with this stage) actually worth it ??? any real increase on HP or at least feeling a bit of improvement.... ??
So I'm checking for some references from anyone made it before... and IF worth it, what cam brand recommend....

For any stage 2 I know, you need to upgrade valve spring and retainers.

It could be worth it, it's all up to you? Going turbo? Want more power down the road? Then it's not the best idea. If you just want a kick to your stock motor go for it, but your still gonna need upgraded valve springs and retainers.

Just a little bit of improvement on the engine performance, nothing like gain lots of HP.... So its recommended to replace the vale springs and retainers...

i would not waste that kind of money. na + d series= wasted money. add in a couple hundred to what you would have spent, and boost it on a home made kit.

Do yourself a big favor by carefully reading all links in the FAQs sticky on how to make your car go faster.

Why I'm gonna waste time adding brands or whatever name... I'm just referring to the STAGE on the cam... but I like how dummy people just assume

I know its kinda wasted money, but still I was just looking for some reviews and advises... I know Boost will work way much better than a NA stage X cam..,. Thanks for the advise anyway

I know how to make my car faster... but I don't have that budget right now, I was looking for some HT members advises in regarding that particular upgrade witch is something I can afford but apparently the final call is NOT worth it...

A stage I cam on a stock engine is not a bad way to go. Please note, as a good stage II cam can make more power, you will need as mentioned already, better springs and retainers, plus some tuning which means you need a tuning option for your Ecu of some kind.

lastly, stage II & III cams make their advertised best power gains when installed on higher compression engines, not stock
