95 Honda Accord radiator boiling
Hi,im new here.just bought a 95 Honda accord, works fine, till the other evening i was driving and suddenly seen the heat gauge rise to the red zone, and check engine light came on.I pulled over right away, and shut cart off.I seen that the rad was empty.so i filled the rad,,let the engine cool down a half hour, and started away,,the car drove normal, didnt overheat or anything,,i had about 2 miles to drive to get home,,,when i got home.I heard a frying sound, and the rad was almost empty again.Filled it up again, started the engine, and in about 30 secs the water in the rad started to spit and foam and boil, and steam. The car didnt overheat,,but the water was doing this. The car starts fine, dosnt heat up,,dosnt skip,no oil in rad,no water in oil. What is wrong? is this an expensive repair? Car has over 200000 klms on it .............thanks all!
If the gauge is spiking red then it is "heat"ing up. You should compression test to see if the head gasket is no longer sealing.
I hope you're using 50/50 coolant and not tap water.

Yes i let the cap off the rad and waited the water was done burping out the top.I found that i have a hole in the rad,and i have a bad spark plug...possably due to a a small head leak?...dunno,,anyway i put some leak stop in rad for rads, and head leaks,,and i put another plug in it ran fine.dosnt heat up,or anything...ill try that.
