check the word salvage in the dictionary
usually they don't drive completely straight and who wants a car that has been totaled or something of those sorts.
although I have to admit, I owned a salvage and flood titled car(kid was asking 4k, I did a carfax check and got the car for $1,700
)

Getting it titled wouldnt be hard if it already passed an inspection could differ from state to state though. I know up here if I bought one with a salvage title it I would have to take it down and get an inspection that takes quite awhile and they are extremely picky littl;e things like brake light not coming on when parking break is engaged to the horn not working would make it fail. Plus you have to have all documents stating that the frame is straight and hasnt been fixed in some sort of way.
There are all kinds of reasons why a car gets a salvage title. It could be a theft recovery with no damage to the car. It could be for a blown engine the insurance company didn't want to replace because it was more $$ than the car is worth. And obviously because of a crash. So look carefully, the car might be OK and worth the trade. You can get a salvaged title car insured in all 50 states. It's a federal thing.
My CRX HF got a certificate of destruction, much worse than a unrebuildable title.
But because the car is worth less than $1500 retail it can be retitled with a salvage
title. The funny thing is that the car is absolutely mint! All the body panels are original. The car has never been hit. the engine blew and the insurance co. didn't want to pay for a new one and decided to destroy the car. I couldn't let that happen. I feel like I rescued it from the dog pound.
