Default Transmission rebuild.

Looking to rebuild my 94 del sol si transmission before I build/turbo the engine. I have decent knowledge when it comes to the engine but don't know much about transmission rebuild. I'm hoping to have 250-300hp and want my transmission to be healthy and able to hold. Should I be looking into a d16z6 tranny rebuild kit? And if that's the case what am I really looking to replace? I've tried my research and still seem I don't have all the answers. Thanks in advance! Input is highly appreciated!!

edit- I do plan on upgrading clutch/flywheel any recommendations for my horsepower goals?

You should be looking into a d16y8 or d16ZC transmission as a replacement. The d16z6 has an aluminum shift fork which shouldn't be a problem but many people do make a problem out of it. People miss shifts sometimes, yakno?

You need to read what Transzex wrote on d-series . org, he's the expert. I dunno if he stills comes on honda tech, but if for some reason you cannot figure out what to do based on his plethora of information, you could always tag mistabone

thank you! I'll be looking into that and seeing what i can learn there. Quick question and I do apologize for asking.. But any suggestions where to look for these tranny? Most jdm sites don't seem to have them and I don't think eBay is a good choice unless you say otherwise?
nvm about sourcing. Is this what I'm looking for? http://www.jdmquality.com/honda-acura/transmission-only/d15b-5-speed-transmission-92-95.html

I was actually given the opposite opinion.

Someone told me they preferred the aluminum shift forks (92-95) over the steel ones in the 96-00 manuals.

The steel forks bend instead of break when you miss shift. This can allow you to still use the transmission and cause more damage in the long run. Where with aluminum, you snap the fork and it just doesn't work causing you to pull the tranny before you go damaging any more of the internals.

I believe this untaggable man to be on the correct path of thinking.

I disagree with some of this statement.
