my key/ignition wont turn but my car starts when i push the clutch in, whats wrong?
I have a dead man switch on my car, i mistakenly tried starting my car with the switch in the off position and my ignition locked up so to speak and when i released the clutch then flipped the switch to on to see if itd enable my key to turn. It still did not turn but when i pushed the clutch she started right up without me doing anything other than pushing in the clutch. Now to shut my car off and keep the battery from dying i gotta disconnect one of the terminals so the power completely shuts everything in the car off. I think due to my current issue it has caused the clutch to start squeeling/squeaking when i hold it all the way down for the slightest amount of time. If someone could please give any advice id appreciate immensely. If you have any questions to help potentially diagnose what the problem is feel free to ask and ill answer to the best of my ability. I am in no means a mechanic but i kinda sorta know what im doing and cant afford to pay someone to do it for me. Thank you for your time.
