Default Window sticking to inside scraper

I have a nit picking problem with the driver window in my '91 coupe.

The window will go up w/o problem but when it goes down it will roll the inside rubber scraper in toward the glass and the rubber scraper piece will impede the window going down. The window travel is impeded by the friction of the glass against the rubber scraper. The passenger side does not do this.

I have cleaned the glass and tried using silicone spray lube in the inside of the scraper but it hasn't helped. I'm afraid that it is going to cause the window motor to die prematurely.

Any ideas what I can do to to allow the window glass to slide smoothly against the rubber scraper w/o it getting folded in against the glass?

This is a crazy idea, but it's so crazy it might just work. Try replacing the rubber strip.

I told you it'd be crazy.

I thought about that but it appeared to be a part of the door panel. Replacing the rubber strip is the correct solution because I believe that the flocking or whatever you call it on the side against the glass that keeps the glass away from the rubber is worn away.

Thanks for the information about replacing the rubber scraper strip.

I have had that issue several times. I have found that that once the inner door panel is damaged in that area you just need to replace the whole inner door panel. If its just the rubber seal and mount that's damaged maybe you will be lucky but for me it has always been where it clips on to the panel that's broken. Should be an easy pick at the Junk Yard/pick your part.

Silly question: is this similar to a window that rolls down, but won't roll back up? The motor loudly works, but no movement on the window unless I'm guiding it manually.

Window motor/regulator assembly may be faulty. What year, model, etc.?

93 Accord LX. I know the motor was replaced once before I got the car and it worked fine. Out of nowhere, the window stopped working. I had the motor replaced and it worked a few times before it started doing what it does now. I don't even use the window anymore, which is a pain.

This was my solution to my problem. Window goes up and down just fine now.

Thanks!
