Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
I would with the Alcon kits above if it's in the budget. ICB lists the wheels they will fit under as well. I believe the 2 piece rotors from Stoptech are now discontinued, but there's the one from Project Mu. Also Nemo's Garage has this Endless kit I found today that is pretty expensive.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
I don't have big brakes but I do have upgraded calipers.
Fastbrakes (4 piston Wilwood caliper with custom bracket) ITR stock brake rotor sized caliper upgrade kit. 9.5 lbs lighter than stock caliper (-19 lbs total).
Fits under 15x8 TE37SLs fine.
Btw, don't bother with the ProjectMu 2-pc rotors if you are looking for lighter rotors. They weigh as much as the stock rotors.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
How do you like the Wilwoods? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on them. Fast brakes might be the way to go on this, dude has a ton of different sized brake setups for the Type R.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
I can't speak for the Wilwoods in regards to track days or daily use. The stock calipers are more than adequate for autocross but I bought the Wilwoods in order to lose weight.
The 4 piston Wilwood calipers perform similar to stock as far as pedal feel and brake torque. I currently use the Hawk DTC-15 compound, which has similar initial bite to stock caliper sized Hawk HP+ pads but the overall friction coefficient is less. I tried switching to a more aggressive compound (DTC-30) but I found the initial bite to be too grabby for my left foot to handle.
Fastbrakes is definitely the way to go for affordable brake kits.

Thanks for posting that.
What's the kit or part number to reference when I call fastbrakes?
Been using it for a bit over a year on track. Never any problems - just cracked my first set of front rotors after a year (not to worry - I'm REALLY Hard on my brakes and they saw a lot of track days - most track days I do double sessions back to back for the entire day - getting 3+ hours on track per track day).
Some type of race pad up front, carbotech xp24's in the rear.
I have two sets of te37sl's and one set of gram lights that i rotate through.

Which wilwood caliper is that? Twin block?
The kit was called "11-4" as in 11" rotor - 4 piston calipers. I am not sure exactly what model the caliper is but it appears to be a Dynapro radial mount.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
I know some have done the switch to 4x100 on their R but it is a cheap way to get Willwood rotor hats for a Honda and run a 12.2" rotor or 11.75x1.25" with SL6R's. I called Coleman Racing about custom hats and the price for just the hats was far more than the calipers. Fastbrakes sells a very similar kit for $1700, which I pieced together with a better rotor size for $900. Plus you can sell your stock R calipers for a decent coin, and if you really switch to 4x100 you can sell the hubs/spindels yada yada. Maybe taboo, but the cheapest way to avoid costly rotor hats. Lettuce stalk about how Bridgestone needs to make a 225 for a freaking 15" wheel. Options get so limited in that size it pisses me off. We make more power than a spec Miata and a 205 really is a limitation. It takes big power to make use of 17x9's even with forged wheels.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
I've never heard or seen anyone swapping to 4x100 on their R. Fast brakes makes a 11.75'' two piece rotor with wilwood dynapro 4 pistons for $1400. These would likely fit under a 15x8 +32/35 TE37 or Gram Lite 57DR. There are quite a few options for a 225/45/15 and 225/50 on tire rack. I think it'd be worth calling fast brakes to see if they will make a 2 piece rotor for the ITR. Either 282mm or 300mm, then fit a Spoon Twin block or Monoblock to them depending on which size the rotor is. Leaves the pad options open and reduces unsprung weight by quite a bit.
TL-S calipers, RL calipers (both brembo) one is a mono design other is 2 peice. Both will physically bolt up to integra knuckle. My current setup is Spoon MONOblock calipers in "F" mounting configuration (staggered pistons) 300mm Rotors from RSX-S 02-06, they are hub-centric and will need to re-drilled if you are 4 lug. 15x8 TE37SL NO SPACERS.
I have seen people run this same setup with smaller rotors. Regular 15x7 TE's aren't going to clear most BIG brake setups like TL-S / RL Brembos. Plus you have the added expense of purchasing BREMBO pads which seem to be quite expensive.
Keep in mind, I'm not a "racer". Just a track day kinda guy. I will say that they people who are racers that have ridden in my car will say that my brakes feel amazing. One has even said " It feels like the hand of GOD reaches out and stops you " -Xian.... haha
WWW.Fastbrakes.com can probably whip up some custom rotors or point you in the right direction with your rules.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
Spoon calipers are all fine and dandy but look up the increased cost of using the ITR or S2000 pad. This is where an aftermarket caliper that uses a universal or standard pad across caliper manufactures significantly lowers cost. The same pad for a Wilwood SL6R fits in Alcon, AP racing, and a few other manufactures calipers in their line too. The ITR pad area and shape is honestly great, but cost gets driven way up. Let's not forget heat capacity with limited rotor staying with OEM or Spoon calipers. So you might fit a 25mm thick rotor, which is fine with a larger wheel and larger diameter rotor... but not under 15's when 12.2 is your limitation. Just saying I opted to run 32mm thick rotors.
Re: Show me your itr with big brakes under 15" wheels!
They're Monoblocks. Twin blocks have the Nissin above the Spoon, Monoblocks have it under. I believe there are DC2 specific Monoblocks, so the pistons are in the correct orientation. If you get RSX/S2K ones and want the bleeders up, the pistons will be the wrong way. I think either RSX-S or S2K rotors work with DC2, can't remember which has the same center bore as the DC2.
Why not just keep the Twin-blocks and see if Fastbrakes can make a floating hat rotor to reduce unsprung weight. Twinblocks are already super light. Unless of course you want the extra braking power from Monoblocks...
