Passengers??? If you take a look around, youll notice this car is not built for comfort
Actually my friend Al and I drove to n. Chicago (about 1.5 hrs) and he didnt have any trouble, hes about 6'3"...Usually the only other person that rides with me is my fiance, and shes 5'4" so its no big deal. The glove compartment still opens fully, and it adds a TON of support to the front of the car. Not to mention takes away a crumple zone. I measured this morning and I have about 5-6" between my legs and the bar once Im in. If you sat in it you wouldnt even notice it.
Oh..about the NEX's. for $400 a pair shipped I couldnt ask for more. I have driven to Va. in one (16 hrs) and didnt have a hint of back problems. Im 5'7" and about 150 and I fit in them well, I really like them. I have some Del Sols that ill sell for 150+shipping or trade for Eibach Sportlines.

yea, definately odd to not have a harness bar of a lateral bar for a seat back brace. and speeking of seats; is that 'NEX' seat fia approved? just wondering.

Why is there a full cage but no harness bar?
Bolt-in cross-braces...actually, bolt in cage. no harness bar. shoulder harness is mounted more than 12" below the shoulder and at a greater angle than 20degrees. No padding for the bar. etc etc etc. Probably using bolts that are less than grade 5 as well. Death Trap.
As I mentioned this cage is Group N, which means it can be used while keeping the interior. This cage may be used off and on-track. In many countries in Europe it is forbidden by law to have fully welded cages inside a car on public roads because the firebrigade does not carry hydrolic scissors (they don't use disc saws!) big enough to cut through these bars in their standard equipment. So to avoid a possible future law-suit vehicle laws in my country are very strict in cage designs..
Deathtrap? I think not, friend of mine used to race with this cage for years without any problem / cracking whatsoever.. If it is so bad why is it FIA approved?
BTW, this cage is NOT monkey-style.. Though the pictures do not show the cage runs up to the dashboard along the lower+upper doorcolumns and another bar connects it along the upper part of the window (where I might hit my head when I do not have the harness fitted) . And you don't know anything about the tubular strength of the pipes or grade bolts used..
It might not be the "best" cage available but I'm not planning running my car into a brick wall either..

That bar that runs by your legs is a really bad idea. Not for your legs so much (though it could potentially cause a problem for them as well), but for your arms. If you get in a crash, you can guarantee you will fracture at least one arm, if not both.
