I've done this same swap is your car a manual or auto. If it's a manual you'll likely get a auto donor which has a different throttle body. Good luck tracking down a throttle body that will work with it.

I I resulted to using the intake off my 98. Also you need to find out which ecu you have. The 98 had a odb2a or obd2b. This is something you need to know if you aren't swapping the oil pump assembly over from the old motor and need to perform the ckf trick.

I dont think the spark plug wire issue will be a issue for you but get whatever goes for your 98 because the jdm engine will use a different harness and distributor that will not hook up to your stock harness.

Youre basically going to be using most of the mechanical parts of the new motor and electrical from the old.

ya its a manual and i planned on using my original 98 intake anywase because the throttle body on the jdm motor is damaged. i did read about the ckf trick. i did end up getting plug wires for the 98 since im gona reuse that distributor like you said their different. thanks for the help.

Just curious. Will it be fine running an engine with higher compression on a ecu that usually runs a lower compression engine?
