I just picked up a old 4 door automatic civic, that wouldn't shift past 2nd. I decided to rip the trans apart, and see if I could fix it myself. Does anyone know what this part is,does, and where to get one?

As the gear driven shaft spins while you drive, it opens a valve.
the faster it spins, the more the valve opens which lets more fluid through and makes the trans shift to the next gear.
