H2B itr build (euro R/itr transmission)
After one major overhaul and one tear down/rebuild I have decided that I'm going to replace the original motor in my itr. The motor has just given me too many problems over the years and now it's not making any power and burning oil during normal driving, I don't go over 4k rpm when driving it, I may as well be driving a fit.
After allot of consideration I've decided to go h2b, specifically a euro r h22 mated to my itr transmission. I realize this is considered sacrilegious but my itr has over 260k on the odometer and will never be an example of a "mint" itr so I am fine with this. It was in such bad condition when I first bought it that doing a restore was my only plans for it, but the b18c5 just doesn't have enough torque for regular city driving, I would love to have some extra power for these situations. I don't want to go forced induction due to costs and reliability, and i can't go k swap, my wife wasn't down with the cost LOL.
Going h2b makes sense since there won't be any major hacking of my itr, and the cost is well within my budget. I'll keep updating this thread as the build progresses, right now I'm still sourcing parts.
Does anyone have any knowledge on electric power steering conversion? My question is does this conversion have to be done with a mr2 pump? There are newer, cheaper options available but I've only ever seen it done with an mr2 pump, is this done for a reason?

Would a JDM B series swap be an option or is the extra torque from the H substantial?

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
The H-series torque is more than a substantial increase as compared to a B series. The band is fatter...and I believe about 25LB-FT greater.
Good for you! Putting the h series with the b series itr gear set should be fun fun for sure. I've installed two H2B swaps so if you have any questions about it pm me. I've not delt with PS using the MR2 stuff though. I would recommend QSD for the kit to use as well if you have the extra $$$ their other items ( alt bracket, oil pan, ect) are top notch and take a lot of headache out of it.

I've been going back and forth between swap kits and I think it will be qsd but I really hate the idea of having to raise my hood, I know the evolution kit allows the hood to be closed but sacrifices ground clearance. I just wish I knew how much ground clearance is lost, that would really help me to decide.
Also, I read up on the "plateless" swap kits, namely brough performance and with their kits the hood can be closed and there is also ground clearance because the engine sits tilted like a oem h series sits in a prelude or accord, and the dipstick reads correctly also. I really like all those things but I am weary of a plateless swap.
If anyone has any input on this I would truly appreciate it.
And thanks for the replies!
PM'd you back
The torque increase is about 30 ft/lbs and 20 hp, I just need some extra pull during regular city driving. I'm not thrilled about losing ac and ps so I eventually want to have both back on the car.

I did the swap with the h23a blue top with ITR trans in my RS integra. From the clearance you can only run the single pully on the crank. I had a/c not PS, with the relocation bracket. I also used the QSD kit with hard race mounts and hood closed perfect, no spacers needed. As for power steering, I was going to use the mr2 pump but never got around to installing it. If you need the pump (mr2) I can sell you mine. I have all the hoses and wiring needed

You wouldn't happen to have pictures of your AC/alternator setup (engine angles) I would like to get a visual idea of whats going on as I may go the H2B route again in the future
you can look under my name, and my build is under h2b project! Hope it helps
