Default S300: VTEC Disengages in High RPM

I've tried searching and maybe I'm not searching the right terms, I don't know. My motor is a B18C5 and I'm using a P28 with a v3 S300. Here's the deal.....With the default VTEC window settings (Lower 5700 RPM 78.9 KPA, Upper 5700 RPM 40 KPA, and TPS 40%) I was having issues of VTEC disengaging at partial throttle and high revs (like 7000+ RPM). To remedy this I set the TPS to 0%. It works but now I have issues with getting into VTEC on the highway (lowered VTEC RPM and a 4.928 final drive). If I crank up the TPS percentage, then I'll be back to square one. I do NOT want VTEC disengaging at 7500 RPM when I ease out of the throttle to maintain a steady pace through a series of corners. I'll deal with the highway woes if I have to but can't I have my cake and eat it too?

Thanks,
Frankie

Have you read the info in the s300 help file on how the VTEC window works?
VTEC Parameters

I did read it. But shouldn't VTEC always be active above the upper boundary? I was getting VTEC disengagement above the upper limit. To fix it, I set TPS to 0% and it stopped happening but that doesn't seem right. I feel like VTEC should never disengage above the upper limit regardless of TPS
