Question about JUNII/ITR cam set ...
Hey,
We all know that the JUNII/ITR setup CAN make great power. Especially in the midrange (Mike K). What are your feelings about dropping a Toda "A" cam instead?
I'm seriously thinking about doing it.

$$$$$.
I don't really want to upgrade the valvetrain because I bought a BRAND NEW ITR head. So, basically which cam would make the most horsepower. (Using ITR valvetrain).

:sigh: i guess just go with the JUN II intake cam. unless you planned on getting both toda a's. or just stick with stock untill you have the money. i think it'd pay off more.

I'll MOST definately be proud of a 200+ WHP car.

I have the JUN II intake/ITR exhaust combo and it works just fine with the stock valve train. My intake is advanced approx. 5 degrees. My SMSP header gives great mid-range power and nicely matches the above set-up
I also tuned the length of my home-made intake/cold air box to match.
The JUN II is bigger than a Toda A, but still has primary lobes closer to stock than a Toda B so there fewer idle issues (as I understand it-never tried B's).
Reasons not to go with bigger cams:
MUST upgrade valve train.
Loss of effective compression.
Greater wear and tear on belt.
Shifting power band up the rpm band requires a change in gearing/ECU fuel cut-off to get the most out of cams.
Need bigger injectors
What did I forget?
