2004 Odyssey wipers
Front windshield wiper problem:
1. intermittent feature is not working
2. wipers will not turn off. Car must be turned off then #3 must me done to get them to rest at home
3. mist feature works, but will not stop at the home position. Have to time the switch to get them to stop at home.
Is this a common issue? Have folks found it to be the switch? Maybe a broken wire in the column?
Thoughts?

It is hard to believe that no one here has ever had this problem. So I searched elsewhere and found that it seems to be a common problem. So, next time someone searches here for this problem and they find my post, they will at least have a direction to go. I suggest that they google "odyssey wipers won't turn off".
I still would like to find a good way to test the problem thru the wiring, but short of that, I have determined that most of the time when the wipers won't park it is the motor. There is a sensor in the motor that knows when they are in park.... Odyssey Park sensor is another thing to Google. The intermittent wipers not being adjustable is caused by the same thing. The park sensor parks the wipers for a time before they wipe again. If it is broken, "how do it know?"
So, I am 1st heading to a close by pull-a-part to get a $12 wiper motor and lots of the plastic clips that hold down the cowl. If they don't have one, there is another PAP that has about ten 2001 to 2004 Odysseys for me to check. Short of that, I guess I'll try the internet then Autozone. They have motors for $75 to $165. it is not raining, so I have some time...
I'll report back if this works.
EDIT: Well that was the ticket. $12.50 at pull-a-part. I ended up spending about $90 more on other stuff. That place is addictive.
I got to practice taking one off. So it was super easy. A couple of clips on the cowling, 4 bolts on the assembly and for bolts on the motor. The toughest part was finding the HOME location. The wipers tend to park about 1 inch higher than the lowest sweep, so you can't just put them as low as they go.
Good luck
